Replace your air purifier’s filter regularly

Our air purifiers are equipped with the best known air filter in the world, namely the HEPA filter, or an activated carbon filter or a combination of the two. To ensure your air purifier works as intended, you must replace the filter on a regular basis. Lifa Air air purifiers have long-lasting filters that are easy to replace, allowing you to enjoy the cleanest possible air at all times.

Efficient replaceable HEPA filters and activated carbon filters

A HEPA filter is a high-quality air filter that meets the requirements of the HEPA filter standard. HEPA is an acronym of High Efficiency Particulate Air. The filter filters out even the smallest particles efficiently. HEPA filters are classified by their efficiency to filter out impurities in the air. HEPA filters are tested with particles of the most penetrating size, which is usually approximately 0.1–0.3 micrometres. Particles that are larger or smaller than this are filtered out even more efficiently.

Higher performance with activated carbon and HEPA filtration

Activated carbon is often used together with a HEPA filter for higher air purification performance and it is a great addition to all air purification systems. An activated carbon filter eliminates gaseous impurities and odours, whereas a HEPA filter “only” filters out particles. Intended for filtering out gases, Lifa Air’s activated carbon filters are the most efficient on the market.

When should I replace the air purifier filter?

The filter’s replacement interval depends on the model and use of the air purifier. A good rule of thumb is to replace the filter or, at least, check the need for replacement once a year. Some of our models alert you if the filter needs to be replaced. If you have a floor-type air purifier, we recommend replacing the filter after the spring pollen season or in early autumn, when people start spending more time indoors.

The filter of a 6GCool Mobile Air Purifier lasts 4–6 weeks in active use. If you use your 6GCool only occasionally, the filter lasts longer.

Why is replacing the filter important?

The purpose of an air purifier is to eliminate harmful particles, bacteria, viruses and gases and produce clean air. To work as intended, the air purifier’s filtration technology must perform at the optimal level. Filters collect dust and particles over time. A dirty filter start to resist the flow of air, decreasing the device’s performance. This may also impact the device’s energy-efficiency.

How to replace the air purifier filter?

All our air purifiers come with a user manual that includes instructions for replacing the filter. Regardless of the model of your device, replacing the filter is easy and does not require special tools or technical knowledge. Please note that new filters are usually protected with a plastic cover that must be removed before installation.

Disposal of replacement filters

Depending on the filter type, filters are recycled as mixed or combustible waste. Filters containing activated carbon are disposed of as mixed waste and other filters as combustible waste.
